Sustainability

Auf dem Weg zur Nachhaltigkeit

As a family-owned company, the world we live in and the future we shape are especially close to our hearts. For us, sustainability is not just a buzzword but a fundamental mindset that shapes our actions at every level — from strategic decisions to everyday work.

We are actively committed to balancing ecological, social, and economic responsibility. Our goal is to develop sustainable solutions, use resources consciously, and create long-term value. Our commitment spans all areas of the company — from production and supply chains to our products and their environmental impact.

For us, sustainability means continuous development. We question existing processes, seek innovative approaches, and collaborate with partners to make progress toward a more environmentally friendly future. Through transparent measures and clear goals, we contribute to preserving a livable world for generations to come.

We Care For Air

At Vento Group, our slogan is more than just words – it’s our guiding principle. Air is essential for life, yet its importance is often underestimated.

This is especially true indoors, where we spend over 90% of our time. Clean, well-conditioned air is crucial for our health and performance. It affects everything — from the health of our respiratory system to our concentration and overall well-being. That’s why we develop, manufacture, and supply high-quality components for ventilation systems. Air ducts made from our components ensure that every breath indoors is fresh, healthy, and free from harmful pollutants.

But our commitment goes beyond personal well-being — it also includes protecting our planet. Sustainability is not an option for us; it is a responsibility. We focus on sustainable and energy-efficient solutions that not only contribute to better indoor air quality but also minimize environmental impact. Our goal as a group is to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050 — a commitment that shapes our entire product development and corporate strategy.

With innovative technology, we are shaping the buildings of the future and helping to protect both human health and the environment. Because those who provide clean air lay the foundation for sustainable living — today and for generations to come.

Green Innovation

We are continuously seeking ways to improve our products — including their environmental impact. By 2026, we have set the goal to implement targeted measures to optimize our materials, production processes, and supply chains in order to further enhance the sustainability of our product range.

Green Energy

Sustainability is a central part of our corporate strategy, and the transition to renewable energy plays a crucial role in this. In addition to powering some of our sites with company-owned solar panels, all of our locations now exclusively use electricity from renewable sources. By doing so, we send a clear message for environmentally conscious business practices and actively contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.

Our energy supply comes from renewable sources such as wind power, solar energy, and hydropower. This enables us to operate in a more environmentally friendly manner over the long term and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. At the same time, using green electricity helps lower emissions and further improve our energy efficiency.

The switch to green energy is an important step within our sustainability strategy. Additionally, we continuously analyze our energy consumption, optimize processes to increase efficiency, and explore further measures to minimize the energy demand of our sites — for example, through modern building technologies, resource-efficient production methods, and intelligent energy management systems.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy through which we take corporate responsibility for climate protection seriously. We view the transition to renewable energy not as a one-time measure but as part of a long-term development toward more sustainable business practices. Our goal is to ensure a sustainable energy supply in the long run and actively contribute to achieving global climate targets.

Sustainability in Office Supplies

Responsible resource management is a core issue not only in production but also in everyday office life. We place great importance on this and actively work to reduce the consumption of office supplies while using environmentally friendly alternatives.

A key approach is the gradual transition to a paperless office. Through digital processes and optimized workflows, we reduce paper consumption, thereby cutting waste and easing the strain on natural resources. At the same time, we rely on efficient document management systems that support a sustainable yet productive way of working.

In addition to reducing paper, we place great importance on selecting sustainable suppliers who offer eco-friendly products. This includes recycled or FSC-certified paper products, refillable printer cartridges, and office supplies made from renewable or recycled materials. Through targeted purchasing decisions, we support companies that produce responsibly and develop innovative solutions for a sustainable work environment.

To use resources even more efficiently, we focus on conscious material management and energy-efficient devices. We raise awareness among our employees for sustainable use of office supplies and promote responsible consumption habits in daily work life.

Sustainability in office supplies is an ongoing process for us. We regularly explore new opportunities for optimization and aim to permanently integrate environmental aspects into our workflows.

A key part of this initiative is our collaboration with a regional beekeeper who places his bee colonies on our flowering areas for several months each year. The bees find optimal conditions there for foraging and contribute to the stability of the ecological balance by pollinating the wildflowers. At the same time, other pollinating insects such as butterflies, bumblebees, and wild bees also benefit from these areas, which provide them with urgently needed habitats.

The flowering areas at our site make an important contribution to preserving biodiversity. Many insect species are threatened by the loss of natural habitats, and purposefully established flowering areas can help stabilize their populations. Moreover, they promote the natural spread of plants and thus support the development of resilient ecosystems.

In addition to their ecological benefits, the flowering areas also reflect our commitment to the region. By working with local environmental initiatives and experts, we ensure that our measures are effective and have a lasting positive impact on the environment. We continuously review how to further expand this initiative and provide additional areas to promote biodiversity.

Our long-term goal is to actively expand the creation of habitats for pollinators and thus contribute to the protection of regional ecosystems. Preserving and promoting biodiversity is an integral part of our sustainability strategy. Through these measures, we support sustainable ecological development at our site and set a clear example of responsible corporate governance.

Electric Company Cars

Reducing emissions and responsibly managing resources are essential aspects of our corporate strategy. Therefore, at all our locations, we maintain a sustainable vehicle fleet where company cars are available exclusively as electric or hybrid vehicles.

With this measure, we actively contribute to reducing our CO₂ emissions and promote more environmentally friendly mobility. Electric vehicles allow us to largely avoid the use of fossil fuels, while hybrid vehicles support the transition to a fully electrified fleet. At the same time, we ensure that the models we use meet high efficiency standards to minimize energy consumption.

In addition to vehicle selection, we facilitate practical use of e-mobility. Company-owned charging stations are available at all locations, enabling easy and efficient charging of the vehicles. This ensures that employees always have access to reliable charging infrastructure and that the use of electric vehicles in everyday work runs smoothly.

Our goal is to continuously expand the electrification of our vehicle fleet. To this end, we regularly review new technological developments, optimize our charging infrastructure, and analyze opportunities to further reduce our energy consumption. The transition to sustainable mobility is a long-term process that we pursue consistently.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are standardized, scientifically based documents that provide a comprehensive analysis of a product’s environmental impacts. They are based on life cycle assessments and deliver data on CO₂ emissions, material usage, energy consumption, and other sustainability aspects. EPDs are gaining increasing importance in many countries and industries, particularly in Germany, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, and France. In the construction and building technology sectors, EPDs are a crucial tool for the ecological assessment of products and are often required in tenders and certification systems such as LEED (USA), BREEAM (UK), or DGNB (Germany).

The publication of our first EPD marks a significant milestone for our corporate group—and the start of a long-term process. Our goal is to gradually develop additional EPDs for our product range to continuously provide transparent information about the environmental impacts of our products. In the long term, we aim to offer comprehensive sustainability information for all our products. At the same time, we use the insights gained to drive targeted improvements in product development and further advance sustainable solutions.

Through the systematic analysis of our environmental impacts, we send a clear message of responsible business practices and sustainable product design. With this project, we actively contribute to promoting transparency and environmental awareness in our industry and help integrate sustainability more deeply into our business processes.
